JOHN MICHAEL DISTEFANO, JR.

Port Richey, FL
John Michael DiStefano, Jr. of Port Richey, FL, formerly of NY and former owner of Wallkill Auto Appraisers, retired from Trailways Corporation, and area resident for 20 years, passed away on July 20, 2018, in Hudson, Florida. John was 68. He was the son of the late John M. DiStefano and Margaret Schill-DiStefano.
John was born on October 18, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY, he was a member of Port Richey Moose Lodge, Member of UNICO, Plattekill Fire Department and the U.S. Marine Corps.
John’s seven children were the pride and joy of his life, the legacy John’s big heart, passion for NY Mets, love of the company of friends and family, and zest for life will live on through them.
John is survived his children: Lisa Byrum (Gene), John DiStefano III (Lisa), Cheryl DiStefano (Robert), Anthony DiStefano (Mary), Margaret Pelosa (Dean), Vincent DiStefano, and Caroline Dowdy (Jonathan); grandchildren: Steven, Zachary, Victoria, Cailey, Kaitlyn, Joseph, Gianna, Benjamin, Emma, and Lillian; great-grandchild, Cameron; his brothers and sisters, Linda Berinato, Karin Frick, Gary DiStefano, and Debra Masson; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
