Obituary of Rose Piscitelli

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rose Piscitelli, 92, who lived in New Windsor, died peacefully on October 6 at the Sapphire nursing home at Meadow Hill in Newburgh. Rose was born and raised in Newburgh, the daughter of Italian immigrants who instilled in her a work ethic that served her well throughout her life. She was educated in Newburgh, having graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, and attended Katherine Gibbs Business School. In her younger years Rose was employed by several Newburgh business establishments. She completed her working career at Mount Ellis Paper Company. Rose was a truly devoted, family-oriented person. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces, and for her grand nieces and nephews. Comments like “Love you all” came easily to Rose. She will always be remembered by her niece Elena (Vincent Rotolo), her niece Carla (Gary McDaniel), and her grand nephews and nieces Nicholas and Grace, and Charlotte, George and Freddie. And we cannot forget that Rose was an animal lover all her life. This is a characteristic that made her a special person in yet another way. Rose was predeceased by her sister Celia Vanacore and is survived by her sister Ann Labianca and her brother-in-law, Frank, whom she always referred to as her brother. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 12 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Avenue (Rt 94), New Windsor, NY. Mass will follow at Sacred Heart Church at 11 am. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Sacred Heart Church or the ASPCA are preferred.
