Obituary of Brandon K Johnson
Please share a memory of Brandon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon Johnson, at the tender age of 37 due to Muscular Dystrophy related complications. He was a brilliant light in many lives, bringing joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. His infectious smile, kind heart, witty humor, and unwavering spirit will be forever cherished.
Brandon was born and raised in Napa, graduated from Vintage High, and later attended UC Berkeley. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science and was an active member of the Disabled Students' Union. During college, Brandon began playing power soccer with the Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program (BORP) where he met the love of his life, Kendra. She was initially his coach, yet Brandon quickly placed on the same elite team where he and Kendra traveled throughout the country competing in regional and national tournaments. In 2014, they both relocated to the New York Hudson Valley where they resided until he passed with her by his side.
Brandon was a loving partner, beloved son, a cherished brother, uncle, friend, and mentor. He had passion and was well versed when it came to disability advocacy, climate change, politics, cars, books, electronics, art, and sports. He inspired those around him to pursue their dreams.
His unwavering determination and positive outlook on life were truly remarkable. Even in his final moments, Brandon faced his challenges with courage and grace.
We will miss Brandon more than words can say. Our hearts are broken, and words cannot express the immense grief we feel. His absence leaves an unfillable void in our family, but we find solace in the beautiful memories we have of him.
Brandon will be lovingly remembered by his life partner, Kendra Scalia, mother and step-dad, Linda Tang and Dave Tang, siblings, Alisha & (Nick) Silva, David & (Angelina) Tang , and Thomas Tang, father and step-mother, Duane Johnson and Lisa Kehoe, siblings, Ryan Kehoe and Shannon Kehoe, and a host of extended family and friends, including eight nephews: Luke Silva, Anthony Tang, Angel Tang, Landon Crozzoli, Paxton Crozzoli, Roman Crozzoli, William Shevlin and Donovan Shevlin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in Napa. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
