Obituary of Virginia Marino
Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia Marino, born on June 9, 1942, to Julia and Stephen Pagano, passed on March 29, 2024. Raised in Kearny, New Jersey, she was known as "Babe" to her "Brother" Russell and "Sister" Lucille.
She was a proud Girl Scout, keeping all her badges, and graduated from Saint Cecilia High School, Class of 1960. She liked keeping in touch with classmates and old friends. She especially enjoyed attending her 50th Class reunion and reconnecting with those she had not seen in years.
Ginger to some, but Ging to those who knew her best, she married Tony Marino on November 29, 1964. Ging and Tony were never apart. She loved her extended Pagano and Trangone families and her new Marino family. Ginger was very fond of all her cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as the seaside and the beach, her Italian heritage, a true New Jerseyan. From skating keys and the Five & Dime to her road trips and shopping for a bargain, she was witness to a great many changes in the world and her own life. She adored vacationing at the Pink Champagne Motel, playing cards, the slots and shows at the casinos, and her collectibles.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife, dutiful homemaker, amazing cook, hostess, gift giver, and a fierce protector of her sons Anthony and Carmen; she was always eager to talk about her boys and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Antonio, her sister Lucille Galanty, her sons Anthony (Carla) and Carmine (Ylana), and her granddaughters, Sabina and Carmina, “Love you to the moon and back!”
