Obituary of Stephen Osterhout

Stephen Edward Osterhout passed away suddenly at Vassar Brothers Medical Center on December 22, 2025 with his loving daughter Tammy by his side. A life long resident of Cornwall NY. Stephen was born on June 25, 1947. He dedicated over 17 years of his career at Star Expansion, Mountainville, NY, where he worked as a skilled machinist with the teamsters local 445. Following his retirement, Stephen followed his passion for mechanics at CV machine in Highland Mills there, he prepared stock car, racing motors, his immeasurable, talent, and hard work where the driving force behind many wins at the Middletown Speedway. Stephen was a longtime member of the black rock fishing game club And was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent most of his time on the river and reservoirs of the Catskills perfected the art of fly fishing, a skill, he cherished learning from his father as a young boy Steven has survived by his loving and dedicated daughter, Tammy OSTERHOUT of Cornwall, New York his brother Edward Osterhout of Palm city Florida his sister Patricia Ibsen of Bluffton, South Carolina. He’s also survived by his nephews Edward and Eric. He is deeply mourned by his longtime companion Amy Bargos of Cornwall, New York and her daughter Edmee of Fla, New York. Steven were pre-deceased by his beloved son, Steven C Osterhout of Cornwall New York was blessed with many longtime friends in the Hudson Valley. You all know who you are a special mention to Tom, Gary, and Bob, he loved you all dearly. Visitation will be at the Hudson Valley funeral home Friday, December 26 between four and seven Graveside services will be Saturday, December 27 at 10 AM
