Virginia M. Schuppe of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and a former resident of Elmwood Park, NJ and longtime resident of Chester, N.Y., passed away on December 4, 2025 at her home. She was 88. The daughter of the late Frederick and Harriet Greene, she was born on July 13, 1937 in the Bronx, N.Y. She was married on June 28, 1958, to Horace A. Schuppe. Growing up Virginia was on her school’s swimming team and received various medals. Also loved bowling for many years. She loved camping in the summers with her family and spent many summers camping at Sylvan Lake in Hopewell Junction, N.Y. Survivors include her children Denise Shepherd and her husband Mark, Elizabeth Murnane and her husband William, Stephen Schuppe and his wife Jeannie and Susan Babcock. Her brother, Robert W. Greene. And her grandchildren William; Jessica; Brian; Lauren; Peter; Stephen; Kathleen; Kayla; Jillian; Alexis and Great Grandchildren, Brinley, David, Everly, Henry, Parker, Sofia and Quinn as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Horace A. Schuppe in 2005 she was predeceased by her daughter Janet Helen Schuppe and her sisters Gloria Ferrari, Helen Fee and Dorothy Wittekind and her brother Frederick Greene, Jr. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025 from 9-11 A.M. at the Hudson Valley Funeral Home 239 Quassaick Avenue New Windsor, N.Y. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery Chester, N.Y.
