Obituary of Ralph A Marchionda

Ralph “Rocky” A. Marchionda, 66, of Wallkill, NY, passed away on October 12, 2025, in Newburgh, NY, surrounded by family. Born in 1959 in Bethpage, NY, Rocky was the son of the late Ann and Ralph Marchionda Jr. He grew up closely alongside his siblings, Phil, Joseph, Tommy, and Jana. He was a devoted father to his late son Michael, his daughters Emily and Brianna, and loving grandson Avery Michael. He was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom he loved dearly. At home, he was adored by his three cats, Ollie, Stanley, and Henry. For over 35 years, Rocky worked passionately as a financial advisor and loved sharing his knowledge. More than his career, Rocky’s greatest pride and joy were his children and grandson. He poured his heart into their lives: coaching sports teams, chaperoning field trips, and keeping the family close as the years passed. Rocky had an endless passion for live music. From Woodstock to Red Rocks, he traveled for concerts and found joy in sharing that love with others, especially his core group of best friends. Known for his humor and contagious laugh, his quick wit and gift of conversation, Rocky could talk to anyone and leave them feeling like an old friend. He was warm, kind, and absolutely larger than life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and spirit will live on through his family, friends, and continual memories. A celebration of Rocky’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Ave, New Windsor, NY 12553. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
