Obituary of Louis Pignetti

Please share a memory of Louis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louis Pignetti, 76, passed away on October 4, 2025, in Newburgh, New York. Born on May 17, 1949, in Queens, New York, Louis lived a life marked by dedication, courage, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made each day meaningful. For 25 years, Louis served as a Bridge and Tunnel Officer (BTO) on the Triborough Bridge. His commitment to public service extended beyond his daily duties—he proudly represented his fellow officers as a Union Delegate, advocating for their rights and well-being. His bravery was formally recognized when he earned the Silver Star of Bravery for conspicuous heroism after stopping a robbery while off-duty. Even in retirement, Louis carried his shield with pride and often shared stories from his time in service with warmth and enthusiasm. Louis’s passions extended far beyond his professional life. He was an avid antique car enthusiast who found joy in the craftsmanship and history of classic automobiles. A dedicated coin collector, he delighted in discovering rare pieces and sharing their stories with others. His love for westerns was matched only by his fondness for chocolate ice cream and the company of his beloved cats. Wrestling nights were sacred—he never missed an episode of WWE on Mondays or Fridays. Known for his outgoing nature and genuine interest in others, Louis had a gift for conversation. Whether chatting with old friends or new acquaintances, he made people feel seen and heard. His warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Louis is survived by his daughters Kerri Tulloh and Jewel Cutting; his son Randy Pignetti; his brother James Pignetti; granddaughter Micah Tulloh; great-grandson Vladimir Turner; and great-granddaughter Suzanne Chamberland. He was predeceased by his father Partenzo Pignetti and mother Marie Graci. May Louis’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness, courage, and connection.
